Trainer Brand Teases Cycling Shoes
As a new year begins, New Balance give us a sneak peek at its latest footwear additions: the C-Series 996C and 600C. Coming in soft grey and black colour ways, the trainers have been adapted from the American brand’s original 996 and 620 models, designed specifically for cycling. Technical features – such as a reinforced forefoot and harder density rubber outsoles to prevent flex over the pedal, along with a tongue pocket for the laces to prevent tangling on the pedals – make these trainers perfectly practical for the style-conscious cyclist. In addition, reflective branding to the side of the 996 model ensures that wearers will be seen in New Balance’s latest offering, whether on or off their bike. Non-cyclists and minimalist lovers may also find themselves enamoured with the designs, with their sleek leather upper, perforated detailing and cork inner sole giving a distinct Scandinavian edge. The New Balance 996C and 600C trainers are set to launch on January 22 at Tokyo Bike, End Clothing, Hanon, Size? and Wellgosh, priced at £90.
